Jack Gyllenhaal, Rachel McAdams Fuel Dating Rumors with Another Outing

As amazing and appealing as this celebrity couple is, don’t get too excited just yet. Though Jake Gyllenhaal and Rachel McAdams have have been spotted out and about together multiple times in recent weeks,  including at the Miguel Cotto vs. Sergio Martinez fight in New York City on June 9, sources say they are just friends meeting up for work.

We’ll see about that.Rumors about the duo’s status have been picking up steam ever since early June. They were seen out for dinner together at Pittsburgh restaurant  Meat and Potatoes. An Instagram picture was posted by a fan. An insider told Us Magazine that Gyllenhaal, 33, and McAdams, 35, are simply preparing for their new film, Southpaw, which stars the actor as a boxer. “They’ve just been meeting about the movie…It’s really coming together,” the source says, noting that they have “good chemistry.” Adds another source: “Jake and Rachel are just friends.”

At the pair’s most recent outing to Madison Square Garden for the Cotto/Martinez match, they were photographed arriving in the same car. “It’s research for the film,” a source told Us. “Jake’s been going to a few fights, and they’ve been meeting with the boxers…They were there to watch the fight and chat with the trainers and people involved with the sport.”

Gyllenhaal, who most recently dating model Alyssa Miller, has been trying to get into the mindset of a boxer and is spending a lot of time with the movie’s director Antoine Fuqua. “Jake is totally behind the project,” the source shares.

McAdams looked beautiful at the fight in an embellished little black dress and heels. She is reportedly still dating Patrick Sambrook. Sambrook is a fellow Canadian and well-known music manager who oversees singer Sarah Harmer and popular rock band The Tragically Hip. The two were seen engaging in PDA as recently as early May. McAdams’ other exes include actors Ryan Gosling and Michael Sheen.
